Central Mexico Tours

MXc1- " EL AZTECA" Mexico City Highlights Tour- Operates as a separate day tour package or as “Add-On tour” to one of other Central Mexican Colonial/Historical Mexican States TOURS PROGRAM.

½ day- Enjoy a relaxing breakfast–Begin both a historical/Colonial visit within downtown Mexico City proper first to the National palace viewing it’s Diego Rivera murals, next on to recently excavated Mayor Aztec Temple next to the Cathedral, inside the Cathedral take in recently refurbished Altar of The Kings observing the splendorous Marrouque artwork. Stroll the principal avenues/boulevards by the Paseo De La Reforma/Chaputlepec Forests/fountains-residential district and Anthropology Museum. Option:½ day- Following breakfast- visit Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine, the Pyramids of the Sun and then onto the Moon at Teothihucan.

Central States Tours Program:

MXc2- Taxco Silver Tour- [2 Day/1Night-Available Daily]- Taxco/Xochicalco/Cacahumilca Grotto/Cuernavaca. Day 1-- A 3 hour morning drive upon departing Mexico City hotel to Xochicalco [one of Mexico’s most important archaeological areas/Toltec(The house of the flowers) culture built between 600-900 b.c., including a 2 mile trek along a well lighted walking promendae accompanied by a historic/cultural guide amid the natural Cacahuamilpa Grotto once an underground river composed of thousand of huge stalagtites centuries ago. Next a 1 hour drive to the famous silver town of Taxco with hotel check-in, late afternoon walk through the charming historical mining city expressing it’s distinguished colonial heritage of silversmith’s work from the silver mines of old topped off with a choice leisurely dinner.

Day 2- Breakfast with a city tour of Santa Prisca chapel, local museum, admire silversmiths at work browsing numerous shops along with shopping and lunch. A 1 ½ drive to the “Eternal Spring City” of Cuernavaca visiting the House of Cortez, the Cathedral and Borda Gardens and return 1 hour drive to your select hotel in Mexico City.

MXc3 - Historic/Archaelogical/Religious/Cultural Tour -[2 Day/1Night-Available Daily]- Puebla/Tlaxcala. Day 1- A 1 ½ hour morning drive outside Mexico city to a recent discovery of Olmeca Cultural Area(650-900 BC) at Cacaxtla, and Pyramid of Xochiquetzal. Next visit,Tlaxcala, the colonial city at Our Lady of Ocotlan Shrine [masterful Barroque style], the Healing Chapel, the San Francisco Atrium, the Bullring, the frescos of Government Palace and city historical surroundings. Following pleasant lunch continue on 1 hour to Puebla’s artful masterpieces at Rosary Chapel, the religious art at Pubela’s Cathedral, and a leisure dinner with your overnight hotel stay.

Day 2- After morning breakfast admire the Indian Barroque/special cherubs at the churches of Santa Maria Tonantzintla/San Francisco, the 7 superimposed Cholula Pyramids, then return to Puebla’s Forts of Guadalupe/Loreto, and historical Amparo museum.

MXc4 - Colonial Fiesta Tour -[6 Days/ 5 Nights-suggested Sunday departure day]. Day 1- After your hotel pickup depart Mexico City driving an hour stopping in Toluca and then 2 hours stopping in Morelia. Roam Morelia’s Government Palace, University, historical Barroque downtown buildings, the Cathedral and museum. Continue after a pleasant lunch to Patzcuaro [ancient town of old historical flair] stroll through native handcrafts in the 11 Patio buildings, the Santa Ana del Cobre, Copper City, and the day’s leisure hotel dinner/overnight stay

Day 2- A breakfast followed with a short jaunt to Lake patzcuato and pleasant boat ride to Janitzio Island delving into it's ancient peoples. Completion of the adventure takes your drive to Uruapan with a stop at La Tazararacua Falls, the Cuuptitzio River, and then on to Guadalajara [second largest Mexican city and birthplace of the Mariachi/Tequilla]. Then the afternoon's journery to Mexico's largest lake-Lake Chapala village, lunch in the "city of Roses and Fountains" with colonial atmosphere seeing the Cabanas Museum of Orosco murals/fine artwork [Clement Orosco being the third muralist after the master River Digueiros.] This requires a Guadalajara overnight hotel being a three/quarter hour drive of stops en route and a relaxed leisure dinner also.

Day 3- Continue your Guadalajara after breakfast touring the city, the murals of Government Palace, the Cathedral, the small tequila village/museum and cellars tasting samples of the plantation’s tequila with lunch and again back to your Guadalajara for dinner and overnight hotel stay.

Day 4- Again have a pleasant Guadalajara hotel breakfast, take in Tlaquepaguque Center of art/crafts , lunch in Mariachi Plaza, and then depart with a 3 hour drive to Gunajuato. The city’s location in the middle of the mountains takes on the flavor and feel of the legendary times at the statue of Cervantes[home of annual Cervantes Festival], as the peoples of more than 150 Int’l countries visit annually for the splendourous art, music and culture only Guadalara has to offer it numerous tourists. The evening finds your strolling along cobblestone streets enjoying a musician’s tune streetside, see the University, the Granaditas Museum, and takea scenic drive along subway avenues for a for a short visit to the La Valenciana Mine for some souveniers of silver just before a relaxed dinner/overnight at your hotel.

Day 5- A hotel breakfast and journey’s 1 hour drive to San Miguel Allende for Dolores Hidalgo[cradle of brave heroes in 1810- fighting for Mexican Independence], visit the Museum, the house of Miguel Hidalgo Costilla[father of the Mexico’s Independence], the church, the colonial monuments and have relaxed lunch. End the day in San Miguel Allende viewing the Gothic church, the Academy of Art, the colonial patios, and hotel dinner and overnight’s stay.

Day 6- After a hotel breakfast depart to Mexico City, visit Queretaro another colonial city with museums, splendid colonial buildings, the Cerro De Las Campanas[Hills of the Bells] where Maximilian of Augsburg[location of Mexico’s emperor’s death], the Museum of Josefa Ortiz De Doninguez[hero of the Independece], the church of Santa Rosa De Vitervo-masterpiece of Barroque art and enjoying lunch before a 2 ½ hour’s drive returning to your hotel in Mexico City.
